Relationships in STEM Education (RiSE)

The RiSE Peer Mentor Program offers peer mentorship to first-year students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), with a specific focus in biology/pre-nursing, computer science, and engineering. Mentors are knowledgeable guides who act as a role model and can connect you to the right people and resources on campus to help you succeed.

Benefits for RiSE students:

  • learn about resources and opportunities and where to get the support you need
  • increased confidence and self-efficacy
  • knowledge of your program and career opportunities
  • connect with another student and have someone to talk to

Program Eligibility

You are eligible for RiSE if you are:

  • in your first year at Edmonds College
  • earning an associate degree and/or intending to transfer to a four-year institution in one of the following fields of study: biology, pre-medicine, pre-nursing, computer science, or engineering. If you are earning another type of STEM degree, feel free to apply as applications are reviewed on a case by case basis.
  • full-time, part-time, international, non-resident, and/or Running Start (ANY status!)
