Funding Your Experience

There are many ways to fund your study abroad experience. You can find ways to help reduce the price and still have the adventure of a lifetime.

Financial Aid

If you are eligible for financial aid, this can be very helpful towards your trip. Financial aid can help cover your Edmonds Community College tuition and some of the program fees. Several students have been able to study abroad thanks to financial aid.

Step one, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).Then make an appointment with Student Financial Services to find out about applying financial aid toward your trip.

Scholarships

There are several scholarships available to students who wish to study abroad. It is very important to start searching for scholarships early. Plan to apply at least six months before the start of your program.

Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship | Application for Winter & Spring quarter open August-October, 2015

More than 2,300 scholarships of up to $5,000 are given to undergraduates who want to study abroad. Plan to apply for this scholarship five to six months ahead. The deadline for winter and spring is Oct. 2. Apply now!

Generally offered for each study abroad program. Students must have applied to the program to be eligible for a $1000 scholarship.

Foundation for Global Scholars

This organization offers six different scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. See which scholarship you may be eligible for and learn how to apply here.

Fund for Education Abroad

Awards of up to 10,000 are available for students studying abroad. Applications for 2016-2017 academic year opens in mid-November.
