JOURNALISM

You Can Make A Difference As A Student Journalist

A free press is a critical part of our democracy. Our journalism courses explore this role and the theory and practice of effective reporting and writing. In our classes, you will practice sourcing and writing news stories in ways that are compelling and useful to your audience. We will teach you how to write in a narrative nonfiction format and can give you the experience of writing for the student newspaper, The Triton Review. We can prepare you for journalism career opportunities in reporting, editing, layout and design, photography, and business management. The research, communication, analysis, and composition skills you learn through journalism can also transfer to various other pursuits.
