Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is closed for this year.
To get help from VITA, the taxpayer cannot have any of the following:
No income from:
- International student homestay
- Rental property
- Partnerships
- Estates or trusts
- Farms
- Sale of stocks
- Self-employed merchandisers
- Self-employed businesses that depreciate property
No deductions from:
- Home office
- Second/vacation homes
- Moving expenses
We cannot prepare tax returns for international students.
You will need to bring:
a copy of last year's tax return (if available), picture ID, social security cards for all family members, W-2 forms, 1099 and 1098 forms, unemployment compensation statements, child care expenses (including provider name, address and employer number), information for college expenses and a list of other income and expenses. Tax forms will be provided.
