"I was born and raised in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan.  I received a Spanish BA at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania.  During that time, I spent two summers and a semester in Spain and was lucky enough to explore many parts of Europe. After graduating, I worked for Japanese, British, and Danish companies in Tokyo until I moved to Seattle in 1999.  I love traveling to different countries, meeting people from all over the world, and experiencing new cultures and languages.  This is why I enjoy working in ISS at Edmonds CC and helping international students take the first step in achieving their goals!"

The very best part of my job at Edmonds Community College is helping international students. Every day, students teach me something new about our world!  I feel like my office is the globe.  Specifically, I advise international students who want to begin their college studies here before transferring to a four-year college or university.  Edmonds students have successfully transferred to schools all over the United States, and beyond. I have earned college degrees in sociology and physical therapy from Franklin College and the University of Evansville, both in Indiana.  I look forward to welcoming you to our fabulous campus community!

I enjoy working with international students. In many ways, I can relate to their experiences of living in another country as I also moved here from the Philippines where I was born and raised. Being a part of ISS is very enriching mainly because of the opportunity to meet people from different cultural background and learn more about our differences and similarities. I look forward to welcoming you at Edmonds Community College!”

"I grew up in North Carolina and moved to Lynnwood in May of 2009 to work at Edmonds Community College. When I was in college, I had the opportunity to study in Italy and England. After college I lived and worked in New Zealand. Spending time abroad not only helped me learn about other cultures, it taught me a lot about myself and my place in the world community. I am excited to play a part in helping international students have similar experiences. I work with several community colleges in Washington state to implement a grant program sponsored by the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs."

"As the Assistant Coordinator of the Northwest Community College Initiative (NWCCI), I manage the program's social media and communication activities. In addition to developing an NWCCI blog and writing the student newsletter, I give workshops and work with students on topics such as journaling, professionalism, social media and internship searches. I was born in Idaho and went to college at Seattle University. My background is as a writer and editor, and I have also spent several years working in higher education as a researcher and faculty member. I have studied abroad twice myself, in the Netherlands as junior in college and then again in Sweden as a Fulbright scholar. When I'm not working, I enjoy outdoor activities that require a wet suit, such as white water rafting and surfing".

"My passion for international education began in 1991, when I studied in Sweden as an exchange student. After college, I worked as a flight attendant for ten years so that I could travel the world. I have a MS in Education and a MA in Scandinavian Language and Literature. Some of my favorite things about this job are meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and helping students achieve their goals.  In my free time, I love to travel, walk my dog, practice yoga, read, snowboard, and spend time with my husband and daughter.".
