Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of Edmonds Community College is composed of five members appointed by the governor. Each member serves a five-year term and must reside within the college's district boundaries.
The Board, on behalf of the citizens of College District #23, ensures the accountability of Edmonds Community College through:
- Fulfillment of the College mission within the guidelines of College philosophy by means of the financial and human resources available
- Promotion of appropriate activities, conditions, and decisions
- Scrupulous self-monitoring of its processes and performances
- Assuring compliance with all applicable state and federal statutes
The Board holds a minimum of six regular meetings and four study sessions each year, held at the college on the second Thursday of each month, at 4:30 p.m., September through June.

DIANA CLAY – Chair
Appointment term: October 2011-September 2018
Co-owner of Clay Enterprises, LLC, a family business involved in real estate development, investments, management, and leasing in South Snohomish County. She has worked in the business since 1974. She has served on the Edmonds Community College Foundation Board since 1997 and serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County.
She has taken classes at Edmonds Community College.
Appointment term: October 2006-September 2014
Vice-President of Internal Audit, Compliance and Ethics, Premera Blue Cross. Former: board member and president for the Puget Sound chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He volunteers with Seattle Arts and Lectures and the INTIMAN, ACT and Empty Space Theatres. He is a past member of the Edmonds Community College Foundation Board.
Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, University of California at Santa Barbara, 1980. Business and accounting courses, Pasadena City College, California State University at Los Angeles 1984-86. Certified Public Accountant 1986.
RICHARD "DICK" VAN HOLLEBEKE
Appointment term: October 2005-September 2015
Retired licensed stock broker, insurance agent, and registered investment adviser. Secretary, TACTC Board of Directors; Chair, TACTC Education Committee; Member, TACTC Finance and Budget Committee. Member, Edmonds Chamber of Commerce. Former member, Edmonds City Council; Counterpoint Mental Health; Police Chief's Roundtable; Snohomish Co. Adult Entertainment Committee; Edmonds Center for the Arts Campaign. Ex-officio member of the Edmonds CC Foundation Board.
Attended Gonzaga University; 1986 graduate of The American College, with professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU).
EMILY YIM – Vice Chair
Appointment term: December 2007-September 2017
Executive Director of the Washington Alliance for Better Schools, a collaboration of 10 school districts and the University of Washington, whose mission is to leverage resources, talent and intellectual capital to help over a quarter million students graduate career and college ready. Emily serves as the secretary for the Association of Community College Trustees in Washington, D.C. and is also the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of that national board. Emily is a member of the Washington Alliance for Geographic Literacy. Emily Yim is also a "member at large" on the TACTC Board of Directors (Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges). Former: Dept. head of the City of Lynnwood, where she served as founding Director of the Department of Neighborhoods and Community Affairs; Vice President for Community and External Affairs at Washington Mutual Bank, helping to oversee and invest a $29 million annual philanthropic budget; and a former Board Member of the International District Housing Alliance in Seattle, United Way of Snohomish County, and the Community Services Advisory Council for Snohomish County.
B.A. in International Studies and Political Science, University of Washington.

Superintendent of Public Hospital District No. 2 (PHD2) Snohomish County, responsible for the administration of the hospital district entity, financial and capital assets, and the development and launch of the PHD2's program, the Verdant Health Commission. Currently serving as a Board Member for the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce and the Edmonds Chamber Foundation, a Board Member for Molina Healthcare of Washington, a Board Member of the Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition, and a member of the NAACP of Snohomish County. Former: President and CEO of United Way of Snohomish County; President of United Ways of Washington and served on the United Way of America's National Professional Council; Vice President and Mid-America Regional Director for United Way America; he has also held executive and senior management positions at United Ways in Texas, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania; Board Chair of Leadership Snohomish County; Vice President of Marketing for a software company in Illinois; and owned and managed a restaurant in Reading, Pennsylvania.
B.S. in Accounting, Albright College.

National Youth Achievement Award – Bronze, Silver, and Gold winner, Mauritius. Previously Executive Officer for Budget and Finance at Edmonds Community College; 3.59 GPA, Global Volunteer Club; Vietnamese Association Club; International High School Club; MESA Club; S.T.A.R.T Club; Volleyball Club; International and National player in Badminton and Tennis; ranked 11th position in Mauritius in 2011; Activities Board.
Attending Edmonds Community College for an Associate of Arts transfer degree to the University of Washington.
